Roland V71 Drum Sound Module
The V71 V-Drums module is the central hub of Roland’s V-Drums 7 Series, offering a fully reimagined electronic drum experience. With a newly recorded multi-sampled sound library developed in collaboration with Drum Workshop (DW), it delivers unparalleled realism. The module supports DW Soundworks software, providing seamless integration for computer-based drumming.
A standout feature of the V71 is its wireless sound expansion via the Roland Cloud Connect mobile app, where users can download V-Drums Instrument Expansions and Kit Packs. The module also includes six months of Roland Cloud Ultimate membership, granting access to an expanding library of sounds, tools, and software. With this, drummers can easily update their soundsets in real-time, offering more customization and flexibility than ever before.
The module’s design has been thoroughly overhauled, maintaining the classic V-Drums hands-on workflow while adding a powerful DSP engine and expanded waveform memory. These advancements enable smoother preset changes, quicker sound edits, and faster mix adjustments. The large color display, enhanced tactile controls, and ergonomic layout further streamline the user experience.
For those who enjoy detailed customization, the V71 offers enhanced V-Edit tools, allowing drummers to personalize every aspect of their sound. Adjustments can be made to drum head types, tuning, damping, and more—just like with an acoustic drum kit. The module is also equipped with studio-grade processing tools, including EQs, compressors, and reverb, allowing for professional-level sound sculpting.
In addition to the built-in sounds, the V71 supports sample import, making it easy to customize your kit with external samples or personal collections. Drummers can assign up to three layers per pad, combining internal and external sounds for unique sonic possibilities.
The V71 module also offers extensive connectivity options. It features balanced XLR and 1/4-inch outputs, three digital trigger inputs, and 14 analog inputs, supporting both traditional and digital V-Drums pads. The module’s USB interface allows for multi-channel audio and MIDI, enabling seamless communication with DAWs and other music software. Bluetooth audio and MIDI further enhance flexibility by enabling wireless streaming and recording.
With the V71 module, drummers gain access to a future-proof platform that supports constant sound expansion, professional-level processing, and seamless integration into any studio or live performance setup.
