Rotz Big Band Drumming

In this book, you will find no instruction on how to read musical notation. The purpose of this book is not to teach you basic reading skills, but rather how to interpret and play a drum chart.

There are two charts for every song in the book. One will be a standard chart written by a professional copyist. The other will be my own personal shorthand chart I would write if a proper chart were not available. In some cases, I may want to avoid lots of page turns and write my own chart to cut down on the number of pages.

Included are basic charts that are commonly found for various arrangements, and my own personal charts written as if I was hearing this song for a show or a session for the first time.
